Tenor Murat Karahan, one of the most important opera artists trained in Turkey and successfully representing our country on many of the world’s great opera stages as the General Director and Artistic Director of the State Opera and Ballet, met with art enthusiasts at the Ataturk Cultural Center Theater Stage last night.
In the carefully prepared concert program, a music journey stretching from East to West was presented; many works ranging from Hacı Arif Bey to Nurettin Selçuk, Santurî Ethem Efendi to Kemânî Kevser Hanım, Ahmet Adnan Saygun, Pietro Mascagni, Giacomo Puccini, Âşık Veysel, Jacques Revaux and Georges Bizet were watched with great admiration by art enthusiasts and were applauded for minutes while standing.
In the concert conducted by Tolga Atalay Ün, the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet Orchestra accompanied tenor Murat Karahan.
In the concert hosted by Özlem Abacı, the ‘Modern Dance Group Istanbul’ dancers were also on stage with the Özgür Adam İnanç choreography.
