Ebru Uygun, one of the pioneers of contemporary marbling art and Founder of the Tuvana Foundation for the Education of Children Willing to Read (TOÇEV), met with art lovers with her new exhibition “Metanoya”. Uygun’s works, which bring a modern touch to the traditional Turkish art of marbling, are welcoming art lovers at Galeri/Miz.
“Metanoya” Exhibition and its Meaning
Ebru Uygun’s solo exhibition titled “Metanoya” invites art lovers to a unique journey. The exhibition also refers to TOÇEV’s “Metanoya Village” project, which will celebrate its 30th anniversary. In his works, Uygun brings a modern perspective to the traditional art of marbling, while at the same time narrating the phases of his life and his effort to reach his personal metanoia.
Works where emotions meet art
In the exhibition “Metanoia”, Ebru Uygun offers a powerful experience to the viewers by reflecting the emotions in life in her works. Her works applied with different techniques and on different surfaces give art lovers the opportunity to trace many spiritual emotions in life. The exhibition includes 27 works in total, each of which stands out as a reflection of the artist’s effort to bring the art of marbling to the present day.
TOÇEV’s 30th Anniversary and “Metanoya TOÇEV Village” Project
Since its foundation in 1994, TOÇEV has reached 8.5 million children and contributed to their personal and social development. Celebrating its 30th anniversary, TOÇEV aims to offer children a living space in touch with nature with the “Metanoya TOÇEV Village” project. The proceeds from the works offered for sale at Ebru Uygun’s “Metanoya” exhibition will be donated to TOÇEV and the “Metanoya TOÇEV Village” project.
