Teatro Rudius, one of Turkey’s leading theater groups, premiered their new musical play, “Çiçekçi Sokağı,” on the evening of December 15th at Şişli Theatre. In the enchanting atmosphere of Şişli Theatre, the audience was captivated by the performances of renowned figures such as Meltem Cumbul, Ece Gürsel, Hakan Meriçliler, Anta Toros, Suna Keskin, Ayşen İnci, Kemal Başar, and Wilma Elles. “Çiçekçi Sokağı,” inspired by a true story from the early 1900s, unfolded on the stage.
Wilma Elles’ Return and Cast Ensemble
Wilma Elles, returning to the theater stage after an eight-year hiatus, joined Alp Balkan, İlkay Özşen, Dilara Tabak, Ali Alkın Aydın, Kosta Kortidis, Pari Mayıs, and Akın Kaplan in this magnificent production directed by Kosta Kortidis. “Çiçekçi Sokağı” weaves a tale around justice, murder, and a woman’s story, creating an emotional atmosphere.
Theme of the Play and Teatro Rudius’ Signature
Based on a real murder story published in newspapers in Pera in the early 1900s, “Çiçekçi Sokağı” is the fifth production of Teatro Rudius. The play transports the audience to the era where eight nations spoke nine languages, presenting a story entwined with love, passion, intrigue, and revenge.
