The TÜYAP Book Fair witnessed an extra thrill this year as Psychologist and Psychotherapist Yelda Başaran met with her readers to sign copies of her first book, “Do You Want to Lose Weight While Sitting?” During the signing event, Başaran’s radiant energy caught the attention of Mavrik Agency & Management founder Canan Kılıç, a renowned manager who has shaped the careers of many well-known actors in the television, cinema, and advertising industries.

At the event, Kılıç approached Başaran, remarking, “Your light shines for acting. As a psychologist, you’re the perfect match for the role we’ve been seeking for an international film project” and offered her a lead role. Başaran was thrilled by this unexpected offer.

Years ago, Başaran had studied at the Müjdat Gezen Art Center and acted in a series with notable actors like Zeki Alasya and Eşref Kolçak, though she left her acting career at the time to complete her Master’s degree at Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty. Reflecting on the recent proposal, she shared her excitement, saying, “The role of a Psychologist and Psychotherapist is already part of my life, which is why this offer excites me.” She then confirmed her acceptance of Canan Kılıç’s offer for the lead role in this international project, expressing her enthusiasm to embark on this new journey.

Başaran’s return to acting is generating much anticipation within the film and art community.
