The “Yarınlar Senin: Doğu Anadolu” project, carried out by the Youth Map Culture-Art, Ecology, and Folk Cultures Association with the support of the Ministry of the Interior’s General Directorate of Civil Society Relations, was successfully completed in 10 cities in Eastern Anatolia. The project, which brought Karagöz, Puppet, and Middle Play performances to state-protected children and prisons in each city, reached thousands of people, completing its first phase.
The project, carried out in Elazığ, Erzurum, Erzincan, Bingöl, Bitlis, Van, Malatya, Muş, Tunceli, and Ağrı, introduced three different disciplines of Turkish theater professionally to both prisons and state-protected children, creating cultural awareness.
Emphasizing the healing power of art in individuals, the project was initiated with the goal of societal reintegration and continues in disadvantaged areas. It is planned to extend to Southeastern Anatolia and other regions as well.
In this regard, we thank the Ministry of the Interior for their support and sensitivity.
