Ayşe Takı Gallery is preparing to welcome art lovers with artist Edibe Taylan’s solo exhibition, CARNIVAL FUGITIVES, on Saturday, March 8, 2025. This special exhibition will feature approximately 50 works, including ceramic sculptures, acrylic and oil paintings, and digital pieces created by the artist over the past 15 years.

Edibe Taylan stands out with her ceramic works, where she intensely focuses on sculpture and sculptural forms, in addition to her acrylic and oil paintings and mobile art projects. The selection in this exhibition brings together the artist’s uniquely expressive, women-themed works while offering viewers a carnival-like experience.
In Taylan’s interpretation, the concept of carnival extends beyond festivity and entertainment; it transforms into a liberated space where rules and hierarchies are temporarily suspended, and dominant ideologies and beliefs are mocked. The women in her paintings and sculptures, with their unconventional forms and exaggerated appearances, deconstruct the traditional female image as defined by the male gaze. They are, in essence, dreamers—carnival fugitives striving to make the carnivalesque eternal.

We invite art lovers to Ayşe Takı Gallery to experience Edibe Taylan’s unique works and share this one-of-a-kind artistic journey.
The artist’s solo exhibition, CARNIVAL FUGITIVES, will be open for visitors at Ayşe Takı Gallery until March 22, 2025.
