An Important Step for Child Health: Support from Nafi Güral Education Foundation to Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty

The Nafi Güral Education Foundation, which has been providing various supports to many institutions in the fields of education and health for a long time, also offered repair and renovation support to the Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty Department of Pediatrics. In the past three years, the department, which has provided outpatient services to approximately 400,000 children and inpatient services to 10,000 children, has had 15 assistant living rooms, assistant counters, and some patient rooms renovated by the Nafi Güral Education Foundation.

At the opening ceremony, Prof. Dr. Özgür Kasapçopur, the Head of the Department of Pediatrics at Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty, NG Founder President Nafi Güral, Nafi Güral Education Foundation President Gülsüm Güral, Kütahya Porcelain Board Chairperson Sema Güral Sürmeli, and Kütahya Porcelain Board Vice President Gülden Güral attended. Additionally, hospital staff also joined the opening. Prof. Dr. Kasapçopur presented a plaque to Nafi Güral and Gülsüm Güral, President of Nafi Güral Education Foundation, in appreciation of their support for the department’s reopening.

In his speech at the opening, NG Founder President Nafi Güral emphasized that children are the most valuable beings of humanity and stated:

“The healthier the generations we raise, the more valuable society remains. Raising healthy generations is extremely important for their ability to receive an education as well. You are performing this exceptional duty. When we learned from Özgür Kasapçopur that there was such a need, we immediately began working on these tasks. Özgür Hocam and his team are doing very important work beyond medicine. Especially with Özgür Hocam’s leadership, the specialization in rare diseases here greatly adds value to your profession. Whenever a task falls to us regarding the implementation of these services, I kindly ask you to inform us, or rather, to assign us the responsibility. A healthy generation means a healthy country. A healthy generation means a healthy society. In this sense, we consider ourselves on duty.”

Nafi Güral also announced the opening of a new project:

“The role of the Nafi Güral Education Foundation here has been to contribute to educational institutions where healthy children will be raised. We have also built a faculty in Kütahya. We donated a building to Kütahya Health Sciences University, which currently serves as both a faculty and a Dental Medicine Hospital. The building is named after my wife, Gülsüm Hanım. The opening will be held on January 17. All of our work in the fields of health and education is a source of pride for us. We thank you for opening your hearts to us and accepting us here.”

Prof. Dr. Özgür Kasapçopur, Head of the Department of Pediatrics at Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty, expressed his gratitude to the Nafi Güral Education Foundation for their support in his speech:

“This is Turkey’s largest pediatric clinic. Nafi Güral and his family contributed to the renovation of our clinic as if it were their own home, and they did so excellently. We are incredibly grateful to the Güral family for their remarkable contributions to preparing our children for a healthy future, working day and night. In particular, our assistant living rooms, the workstations of our assistants, patient rooms, and care rooms have all been renovated and are now in use. We are truly grateful to Nafi Güral and his family for this.”
