The victorious team of this year’s Granfondo is none other than Asperox Bicycle Team, claiming the podium 20 times across three races.
The final stage of Turkey’s biggest amateur road cycling race series, Izmir Granfondo, took place on Sunday, October 22nd in Izmir. A total of approximately 2,000 local and international athletes participated in this grand event, which was inaugurated by Izmir Governor Süleyman Elban as part of the 100th anniversary celebrations of the Republic of Turkey.
The Asperox Bike Pedia Racing Team not only celebrated the centenary of the Republic but also promoted environmental awareness throughout the race. The team secured an impressive seven first-place finishes during the competition.
In the women’s category of the short course, Sevcan Alper claimed the top spot, also taking first place in her age group. Cengiz Güner dominated the short course for men and also secured first place in his age group. Mustafa Varol Aşıbol, another member of the Asperox Bike Pedia Racing Team, secured first place in the short course in his age category.
In the long course, Züleyha Dikbaş and Oğuzhan Taşkan from Asperox both managed to clinch first and second places respectively in the general classification for women and men. Additionally, in the women’s age category, Gizem Ustabaş took first place, while Safa Acar secured the second position.
The young talent of Asperox Bike Pedia Racing Team, Yağız Atıcı, emerged as the winner in the category of 14-17-year-old athletes.
Zeynep Kahraman, Marketing Manager at Beyaz Kağıt, praised the team’s performance, stating that Asperox dedicated all their medals to the 100th anniversary of the Republic. She commended the team for their dedication to promoting environmental awareness and a cleaner world.
Asperox Bike Pedia Racing Team achieved a remarkable 20 first-place medals during the Granfondo races in 2023, and a total of 36 podium finishes.
