Curated by Nuray Özler Yolcu, the “Bağ 2” exhibition is being held at En Passant Istanbul, bringing together art enthusiasts. The exhibition, featuring thirty artists from various disciplines, will be open for visitors from October 16 to October 30. Enriched by the creative and multifaceted expressions of the artists, this exhibition aims to offer viewers diverse perspectives.
Nuray Özler Yolcu: “Bonds Are the Essence of Art, Rediscovering These Connections is Essential”
Nuray Özler Yolcu defines the theme of the exhibition, centered around the concept of “bond,” as follows:
“‘Bağ 2’ focuses on the processes of forming, breaking, and reconnecting bonds. It offers viewers a profound exploration, ranging from personal relationships to the bonds between nature and humanity. The artists showcase how they express these bonds through their works, establishing a multilayered dialogue both among themselves and with the audience.”
This year’s exhibited works are a continuation of the “Bağ 1” exhibition, which began in September of last year. While Yolcu brought together 12 artists in the first exhibition, this time she has organized a much larger showcase with 30 artists, spanning a wide range of disciplines including sculptors, painters, photographers, and stained glass artists.
“En Passant Istanbul is Not Just a Gallery, It’s a Living Art Space”
Nuray Özler Yolcu emphasizes that En Passant goes beyond being an ordinary gallery:
“This is a place where you can spend peaceful time in the morning with a book and a cup of coffee. In the evenings, it’s a cozy spot to chat with friends while watching the sunset. As a multidisciplinary art center, you can not only explore the exhibition but also participate in various artistic events.”
In this versatile art space, the “Bağ 2” exhibition offers viewers not just the chance to observe artworks but also to engage with them. A total of 47 works by 30 artists from different disciplines are displayed, creating strong connections both between the artists themselves and with the audience.
The Purpose and Theme of the “Bağ 2” Exhibition
Yolcu explains the core purpose and theme of the exhibition as follows:
“‘Bağ 2’ aims to explore how artists establish deep connections with each other and their works, and how these bonds resonate with art enthusiasts. In this exhibition, the audience will deeply feel the bonds formed not only between people but also between nature and humanity, the past and the future.”
The exhibition represents not only an individual but also a collective artistic journey. As Yolcu emphasizes, discovering these bonds and feeling the energy artists project into their works is one of the most profound experiences the exhibition offers its visitors.
The Exhibition Awaits Art Enthusiasts Until October 30
The “Bağ 2” exhibition will be open to visitors at En Passant Istanbul until October 30, 2024. The exhibition has garnered significant interest from both artists and the audience, continuing to make a substantial impact on Istanbul’s art scene.
