One of the young representatives of contemporary painting, İlkem Güneri’s solo exhibition titled “Bullseye” starts on Saturday, March 18 at RED art Istanbul. The exhibition, which consists of works of the artist with influences from lowbrow and street art, will be open to art lovers until March 28.
İlkem Güneri, one of the young representatives of contemporary painting, is preparing to present his new solo exhibition, called “Bullseye”, to art lovers at RED art Istanbul. İlkem Güneri, who graduated from Akdeniz University Painting Department in 2018 and completed his master’s degree in painting at the same university in 2021, has been working at RED art Istanbul since 2020.
Ilkem Güneri, who focuses mostly on stylized cartoon characters as figures in his paintings, in which he conveys current events with an ironic perspective, says that these figures, who draw attention with their childlike and minimalist facial expressions, have rebellious, rebellious and freedom-loving characters. The “Bullseye” exhibition consists of more than 15 works with influences from lowbrow and street art. Expressing that they are looking forward to bringing Ilkem Güneri’s new paintings to art lovers, RED art istanbul Founding Partner Yiğit Aydın states that he sees İlkem Güneri, who was noticed in a short time with his unique style and whose works are included in many important collections, among the brightest artists of the young generation. Aydın said, “There are many features that make İlkem Güneri unique, from the themes he uses to the striking color palette, but the most valuable one for me is the positive effect his art creates. Everyone who watches Ilkem’s works puts a big smile on their face, and we can’t say that the number of artists who can achieve this is very high. I believe that Ilkem’s works truly reflect the healing power of art during this difficult period we are going through.”
The “Bullseye” exhibition, in which a part of the income will be donated to UCİM (Saadet Teacher Child Abuse Association), which has attracted attention with the support they have given to the children in the earthquake region in recent days, will be open to art lovers at RED art Istanbul until 28 March.
