Daikin, a century-old expert in the HVAC industry, continues to create value for society. Daikin Turkey’s “Clean Air Ambassadors” project, launched in 2017 and widely acclaimed, received the 2024 Social Benefit Awards in the “Projects That Add Value to Society – Children” category. The award was presented on Thursday, November 28, during a ceremony held at Hilton Istanbul Maslak.
Through the “Clean Air Ambassadors” project, Daikin aims to raise awareness among primary school children about clean air and environmental consciousness. Special “Clean Air Classrooms” equipped with Daikin air purifiers are set up in rural schools across various provinces in Turkey. These classrooms are designed as unique spaces where students breathe clean air while receiving an education and developing environmental awareness.
To date, Daikin Turkey has reached 1,840 children by establishing clean air classrooms in 21 rural schools across Turkey as part of the Clean Air Ambassadors project. The initiative seeks to instill eco-friendly habits in children, covering topics like recycling, energy conservation, and environmental cleanliness through engaging and fun methods.
Investing in the Future for a Sustainable World
Hülya Dinçer, Corporate Communications Manager of Daikin Turkey, shared her thoughts on the award, stating:
“The Clean Air Ambassadors project is not just an awareness initiative but also an investment in the future for a sustainable world. We launched this project in 2017 with great dedication and are making extensive efforts to reach more children. Receiving such an award is a significant source of motivation for us. Our goal is to reach 3,000 children by 2025.
Additionally, through our website, www.temizhavaelcileri.com, which we launched last November, we aim to encourage more children to become Clean Air Ambassadors. We extend our gratitude to the jury of the Social Benefit Awards for recognizing us with this honor. We will continue to enhance our Clean Air Ambassadors project to increase environmental awareness.”
The Award-Winning “Clean Air Ambassadors” Project Expands with Innovations
Aiming to reach 3,000 children by 2025, Daikin Turkey is working to expand its “Clean Air Ambassadors” project to broader audiences. Plans include establishing new clean air classrooms in different regions of Turkey, raising awareness among more children, incorporating schools in need of clean air into the project, and leveraging its digital platform to reach even more children.
As part of the project, the website www.temizhavaelcileri.com was launched to provide an engaging and interactive way for children to learn about environmental awareness. On the site, children engage with “Tenki,” an animated character whose name means “air” in Japanese, to learn about the environment through videos, games, and animations. By completing tasks on the platform, they earn points and reinforce their environmental consciousness.
Additionally, the project introduced the Clean Air Notebook, a book crafted with contributions from journalist and writer Ömür Kurt. This book conveys environmental awareness in a fun and engaging manner, helping children solidify what they’ve learned through interactive activities.
To ensure more children join this vital awareness movement, Daikin is committed to continually enhancing the project. Driven by the goal of leaving future generations a cleaner and more sustainable world, Daikin steadfastly pursues the dissemination of environmental awareness through this initiative.
