Maspo Energy’s Book Explaining Geothermal Energy to Children: “Droplet Men”
Maspo Energy, aiming to leave a more livable world for future generations by investing in environmentally friendly renewable energy, has presented a very special storybook to children to explain the important power of geothermal energy in Turkey. The storybook titled “Droplet Men,” with its storyline created by Maspo Energy’s General Manager Murat Solmaz, highlights the significance of geothermal energy as a renewable, efficient, and eco-friendly resource. The “Droplet Men” book will initially be gifted to pilot schools and students visiting Maspo Energy.
Maspo Energy, active in developing and operating electricity power plant projects in the rich resource field of geothermal energy in Turkey, introduced the “Droplet Men” storybook to children to pass on the valuable resource of “geothermal energy” to future generations in the best way possible. The book is aimed at educating and entertaining children in primary school age about geothermal energy, renewable energy sources, and how to use these resources more efficiently. In the initial phase, 5,000 copies of the book were printed.
The “Droplet Men” storybook, which was conceptualized by Maspo Energy’s General Manager Murat Solmaz and written by author Feyza Şahin in an educational, informative, and enjoyable style, features illustrations by Nida Yiğitler Özer.
Murat Solmaz, Member of the Board of Directors of Gürmen Group and General Manager of Maspo Energy, who presented the “Droplet Men” book to children, commented: “Energy needs were of great importance to our peers. Power outages were the most valid excuses for not being able to do homework. ‘Time’ is the most valuable factor of our age. Additionally, we see that with the development of technology, vertical expertise gains importance. I believe that we should do our best to shape the future of our children by using the results created by these two factors. In light of this view, I tried to create a book in which children can dream and imagine about geothermal energy, which is this eco-friendly system, and the work we do at Maspo Energy in a way that they can understand. In the book, I aimed to present the geothermal plant we established with my colleagues as a story that children can comprehend.”
Solmaz aims to reach more children with the book in the future, collaborate with the Ministry of National Education to use it as an auxiliary resource in schools, and promote renewable energy. The “Droplet Men” storybook, which draws attention to renewable geothermal resources, will be initially given to schools in the Manisa – Alaşehir region, where Maspo Energy’s geothermal field is located, and to students visiting Maspo Energy.
