Emine Sabancı Kamışlı, who assumed the leadership of Esas Social, took place in the top 10 list of “Sustainability Leaders 50” chosen by Fast Company Magazine on a global basis.
Established in 2000 by the late Şevket Sabancı and his family, Esas Holding, one of Turkey’s leading investment companies, has been creating a sustainable and measurable impact in the field of youth and employment since 2015 with its social benefit-oriented investment unit Esas Social, which it has implemented with the vision of giving back to society.
With its cooperation model that brings together the private sector, non-governmental organizations, business people, managers and young people around its mission of diversity, equality and inclusion, Esas Social aims to contribute to the development of the country with its social investment programs.
Emine Sabancı Kamışlı, who undertook the leadership of Esas Social and also took part in pioneering studies in the field of women’s entrepreneurship; She has been at the forefront of the “50 Sustainability Leaders” list, which was made by Fast Company Magazine and evaluated by a global jury, for 3 years in a row.
Emine Sabancı Kamışlı, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Esas Holding, ranked 10th among 50 leaders this year as a result of the evaluation made by the jury, which includes managers and experts from Turkey and various countries, said: “As Esas Holding, we attach importance to sustainability in every aspect of our business. As a holding, it is very valuable for us to leave a mark and be a guide in every step we take. With this understanding, we continue to lead our social investment unit, Esas Social, and we work every day to bring our youth together with equal opportunity. While we offer young people the opportunity to explore the civil society sector, we also provide qualified workforce to NGOs. Our aim is to contribute to the development of our country. Recently, we experienced a devastating earthquake disaster that affected 11 of our provinces and left us all deeply saddened. I wish mercy to those who lost their lives, patience to their relatives, and a speedy recovery to the injured. After the earthquake, we immediately rolled up our sleeves to do our part. We try to do our best both institutionally and individually, and we ensure that our support is sustainable thanks to the strong bond we have established with each member of our ecosystem since day one. We take action considering that the important thing in such a sad event is to provide long-term support aimed at making life easier. While introducing young people to the civil society sector in our programs that we have implemented within Esas Social, we aim to develop their awareness of social responsibility. In these difficult days, we have witnessed that both our participants and our graduates volunteer in the NGOs they work for, and they also refer the institutions they work to NGOs for support. We are proud of them. This is an example of solidarity beyond social responsibility. The established order will be much more robust when it is sustainable in all areas of life. We will continue to create permanent solutions to our country’s problems and create social benefits. It is very proud that these works of ours are evaluated and appreciated by the esteemed jury… We will do better by working together.”
