Europe’s leading space agency and science-based technology company has established a partnership to support and accelerate the development of new space start-ups and innovations
The letter of intention aims to expand the existing cooperation between the European Space Agency Job Incubation Center (ESA BIC) Bavaria and Dassault Systèmes in Germany to other ESA BIC organizations throughout Europe
European-based start-ups will benefit from Dassault Systèmes’s 3DexperIence platform, 3DexperIence lab mentoring and networking support
Dassault Systeèmes (Euronext Paris: Fr0014003TT8, DSY.PA) and the European Space Agency (ESA) signed a letter of intention to support the European community for innovation in the “new space” industry. The announcement was held during the “New Space Networking” event held at the beginning of the Paris Space Week, held at Dassault Systèmes’s headquarters in France.
The two organizations to improve the innovations of new space start-ups in ESA’s Network of Job Incubation Centers; technology, mentoring and network opportunities to support and accelerate. The agreement was built in 2022 on the existing partnership between ESA BIC BAVYERA and Dassault Systèmes in Germany and aims to spread to other ESA BIC organizations.
Dassault Systèmes and ESA accept that digitalization is of great importance in the success of the success of space. In recent years, digital technology has enabled Start-ups to make new concepts that transform traditional industry dynamics for satellites, space travel, discovery and other aviation and other space systems.
Through the 3DEXPERIENCE LAB Open Innovation Laboratory, Dassault Systeèmes and ESA will encourage Dassault Systèmes’ cloud-based 3DexperIence platform to start-based 3DEXPERIENCE. The platform will offer new ways to conceptualizing, designing, producing, testing, certification and sustainability of new spacecraft. Start-ups will benefit from the leading applications of the sector in order to engineering their projects in a 3D virtual environment and to organize the cooperation of Mentor Network in teams and around the world.
ESA Commercialization, Industry and Supply Director Geraldine Naja; “ESA BIC NETWORK has supported more than 1,300 start-ups so far, and as commercialization, industry and supply director, our aim is to support these companies more in their growth journey by establishing bridges with corporate partners, investors and other ESA programs. As an agency, we learn from them about adopting a new space approach to shape tomorrow’s space ecosystem. ” said.
David Ziegler, Vice President of Aviation and Defense Industry, Dasault SYSTèmes, said, uz We are in the forefront of a large wave of innovation in space. Ten years later, the number of satellites returning in the orbit of the world will be more than 10 times. While the democratization of space creates new opportunities in these areas, the innovation race is becoming increasingly widespread among new space start-ups in Europe. Our cooperation with ESA will accelerate the design, production, testing and activity of these Start-ups that lead a new global space economy. ”
ESA, the leading space agency of Europe, has a network of 29 ESA Business Incubation Center throughout Europe to encourage the development of space-oriented ideas, start-ups and innovations. Dassault Systèmes has been allowing aviation and space companies to create new industrial sectors and transform existing sectors with groundbreaking firsts. These firsts include a plane, which is completely digitally designed and developed, advances in Evtols, solar flights and closed loop habitats that can support life on other planets.
