Transition from Analog to Digital in Textile Printing: New Mimaki Tiger600-1800TS to be Introduced at ITMA 2023
The textile industry is rapidly transforming with the demands for personalization and sustainability. The advanced Mimaki Tiger600-1800TS, designed to meet these new needs, encourages textile manufacturers to transition from analog to digital printing and serves as a source of inspiration for them.
Mimaki, the leading brand in industrial inkjet printing machines, cutting plotters, and 3D printers, is preparing to showcase its most efficient sublimation transfer printing machine, Tiger600-1800TS, at the ITMA 2023 exhibition held from June 8th to June 14th. This new high-speed, compact, and powerful roll-to-roll inkjet machine is designed to accelerate the transition from analog to digital printing in the textile printing industry.
Thanks to its upgraded high-speed printing head and Mimaki’s patented image quality improvement technologies, Tiger600-1800TS can reach a maximum printing speed of 550 m² per hour (143% faster than the previous model). The new design allows for the placement of paper feeding and winding systems behind the machine, reducing the machine’s size by half compared to the previous model. This more compact design enables the easy installation of multiple units, allowing users to respond more easily to changing demands and increase overall production capacity.
Arjen Evertse, General Manager of Mimaki Eurasia, said, “All these innovative developments position Tiger600-1800TS ideally to compete with analog textile processes and support the transition to digital printing production.” Evertse also added, “The benefits provided by digital printing are diverse compared to long, complex, and unsustainable analog production methods. Digital printing offers a fast and cost-effective solution to meet the changing demands of print manufacturers while providing greater design flexibility. Additionally, it contributes to reducing environmental impact with advantages such as local production, minimal stock, and elimination of wastewater.”
Sustainability Demands Fully Met with Tiger600-1800TS
Another environmental benefit of Tiger600-1800TS is that the sublimation inks used will soon receive bluesign® certification. This certification will confirm that the MLSb510 series inks comply with the highest quality standards for the safety of end consumers and print operators, as well as the protection of the environment, thereby contributing to the sustainability of Mimaki’s textile industry.
Mimaki’s expertise in developing reliable, user-friendly, and efficient solutions is evident in the design of Tiger600-1800TS. The ink tank of the printing machine can be replaced continuously, minimizing downtime. With the roll paper feeding method, the need for applying adhesives onto the blanket is eliminated, reducing the maintenance requirements of the printing machine.
Arjen Evertse stated, “Tiger600-1800TS perfectly meets the needs of all our existing and potential users with its advanced engineering features and user-friendly design.” He added, “This new high-volume sublimation transfer printing machine, added to Mimaki’s extensive product portfolio, stands out with its advantages that promote the transition to digital printing. In terms of the changing production requirements of the textile industry, which produces inspiring works, digital printing inevitably offers the best solution. Moreover, Tiger600-1800TS and our other digital textile printing solutions support and encourage a more sustainable and environmentally friendly transformation.”
