Amgen Turkey’s IamGenius Biotechnological Ideas Competition, launched to support future scientists and aimed at university and high school students, is being held for the fifth time this year. Preliminary applications for the competition started on March 3. This year, only university students will be eligible to participate, and applications will be accepted until March 24.
For the fifth time, Amgen Turkey is rewarding university and high school students who approach biotechnology from different perspectives and seek innovative ideas. This year, the IamGenius Biotechnological Ideas Competition is organized under the theme “Ideas That Give Hope to Cancer Patients.” Students who achieve top rankings will be offered opportunities such as internships, project work, and training seminars at Amgen. Applications will be accepted between March 3 and March 24. The five finalist ideas, presented by undergraduate or graduate students, will be announced on May 13. The winning projects will be revealed at the award ceremony on May 27.
“The Future Will Be Shaped by Young Minds”
Amgen Turkey General Manager Güldem Berkman stated that IamGenius has attracted great interest from young people since its inception. “We launched IamGenius to increase young people’s interest in biotechnology, encourage scientific thinking, and support future scientists. Seeing our young people’s enthusiasm for science and supporting their innovative ideas to contribute to society is a great source of pride for us. This year, we will listen to creative solutions from young minds that could bring hope to cancer patients. The future will be shaped by young minds. That’s why we eagerly anticipate their projects every year,” she said. Berkman also noted that more than 500 students have applied to IamGenius over the past four years and expressed hope that interest in the program would continue this year.
