The Story of the Novel:
Uyanış tells the poignant story of young Ali, who leaves his village in Anatolia for Ankara to pursue his university education, and his devoted mother, Fatma Ana, set against the backdrop of the 1980 military coup. On the day of the coup, Ali is arrested… Fatma Ana begins waiting for the day her son will return. This wait lingers in her mind like a shadow. As this process opens the doors to a spiritual journey, it draws readers into a profound mystery.
About the Artist:
Haluk Özkan was born in 1965 in Kayseri and graduated at the top of his class from the Istanbul State Opera and Singing Department. Since releasing his album Vira Bismillah in 1985, he has produced 25 albums and composed music for numerous films and theatrical productions. He has also written and directed two documentary scripts and, in 2022, founded Haluk Özkan Projects, where he continues his work.
