Bringing together the machinery and production sectors, IMATECH – Industrial Production Technologies Fair opened its doors in Fuar İzmir. In the fair, which was held for the first time, the leading companies in the production of machinery and its parts come together, and all the industrial systems needed for the factories of the future are also included.
IMATECH – Industrial Production Technologies Fair, hosted by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and organized with the cooperation of İZFAŞ and İzgi Fair Organization and with the support of 4M Fair Organization, opened its doors with a ceremony held in Fuar İzmir. İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Mustafa Özuslu, Gaziemir Mayor Halil Arda, İzmir Chamber of Commerce Assembly Chairman Selami Özpoyraz, Aegean Region Chamber of Industry Assembly Chairman İbrahim Gökçüoğlu, İzmir Atatürk Organized Industrial Zone Chairman Cenk Karace, IYI Party Provincial Chairman Sinan Bezircilioğlu, İZFAŞ General Manager Canan Karaosmanoğlu Buyer, İzgi Fairs Founding Partner Mustafa Kemal Hisarcıoğlu, representatives of chambers, political party representatives, industrialists and sector representatives attended.
Thanks to the industrialists
Speaking at the ceremony, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Mustafa Özuslu thanked all industrialists who create added value and employment to the country with their production. Deputy Chairman Özuslu said, “We are together with the industrialists in such a fair. We are with people whose hands will be kissed for creating added value and employment for their production. İZFAŞ held 30 fairs here last year. This means more promotion and trade of İzmir. In this respect, it is good that this fairground has been built, may Allah be pleased with those who made it. We are trying to help everyone by expanding this area. I would like to thank everyone who contributed to this fair, whoever put a brick here.”
We will exist if we produce
Emphasizing that the Economics Congress convened again in Izmir after a century, Özuslu said, “This is very valuable. We had a very big earthquake. There will be natural disasters, earthquakes; It is waiting for İzmir as well, scientists say. There are also active faults in İzmir. Industrialists in the region were also affected by the earthquake. We should ask how ready we are when there is an earthquake in regions such as Istanbul, Kocaeli, Bursa and Izmir, which are largely industrial centers of Turkey. Industrial facilities and organized industrial zones managements should also ask questions. As Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, we carry out free building risk assessment. Get this done. Let’s take precautions. It is seen that 70% of the 33 thousand buildings examined in Bayraklı are not at a sufficient level in terms of engineering services and earthquake resistance. Let’s make every factory we build more durable from now on. Let industry and production survive in a possible earthquake. Because if we produce, we will exist. In addition to the loss of life in the earthquake, there is also economic ruin, which is very difficult to cope with,” he said.
This fair is very important
İzmir Atatürk Organized Industrial Zone Chairman of the Board of Directors Cenk Karace stated that he is also a machine manufacturer and said, “There is no place where machines do not enter. There are machines in every area of our lives, at every point, in everything, in every need. From grinding flour to producing shoes to producing telephones. When you come to this fair, there are companies that make the life of machinery manufacturers easier. If we are planning to close the gap in machinery export and import, this fair is of great importance. In the meantime, the companies that will close the technology gap are inside. As a machinist, we are very open to technologies that make our lives easier, I think this is a very important factor in increasing exports. We welcome all machinery manufacturers to the fair. We are working hand in hand to bring the sector to better points and we hope that the fair, which was held for the first time this year, will have many more.”
The ratio of exports to imports is increasing
Mustafa Kemal Hisarcıoğlu, Founding Partner of İzgi Fairs, said, “Turkey has made a significant leap in machinery production and exports in recent years. In addition, in parallel with the increase in production capacities, the upward trend in imports continues. Today, all our machinery exports have exceeded the threshold of 25 billion dollars, while our imports have been 37 billion. The ratio of exports to imports is increasing day by day. It is predicted that the gap between imports and exports will decrease in the coming years. In addition, we see the touch of our machinery sector in all kinds of industrial productions that we export, from furniture to textiles, from food to medicine, from jewelry to mining, from automotive to many different fields. We hope that our IMATECH exhibition will meet the expectations of our exhibitors and visitors. We wish success to all our participating companies.

The products and services at the fair will also help visitors increase the efficiency and competitiveness of their businesses.
