Marshall organized a kite event for children affected by the earthquake within the scope of April 23rd.
In collaboration with the Kocaeli Social Services Directorate, Marshall organized a kite event for earthquake-affected children and their families in Kocaeli as part of the April 23 National Sovereignty and Children’s Day celebrations.
Marshall celebrated April 23 National Sovereignty and Children’s Day this year with a kite event for children affected by the earthquake. Leyla Canbolat, Turkey’s first female kite maker, performed a special kite show for the children who attended the event, including earthquake-affected families staying at Kocaeli Social Services Directorate’s shelters.
In her statement about the event, Marshall Marketing Director Pınar Adabağ said, “After the earthquake, as Marshall-AkzoNobel, we delivered our aid trucks, which included basic necessities, to those in need in coordination with public institutions, and directed our individual aid to our employees in the region. In addition, we started aid campaigns with our employees and continue our contributions with our donations to Non-Governmental Organizations.”
Adabağ emphasized that they act with the awareness of the responsibilities that fall upon them as a company and said, “We made an effort to put a smile on the faces of our children on April 23, the only holiday that the Great Leader Atatürk dedicated to not only our country but also to all children of the world. We aimed to bring Marshall’s colorful world into the children’s world with a different perspective, and to provide them with a fun day. Seeing the children smile here today is a source of happiness for us. As a company, we wish to heal our wounds as soon as possible and never experience such a disaster again.”
At the workshop, attended by 150 children, the children learned how to make kites and then flew their colorful kites together with the help of a professional team at the Kite Hill in SEKA.
