Imaging technologies leader Canon is expanding the functionality of its PTZ cameras with two new applications. Auto Tracking App RA-AT001 and Auto Loop App RA-AL001, which allow users to add new functions for video production, respond to the market demand to create a powerful standalone solution for video productions without the need for an external device.
When the new applications developed by Canon are combined with 4K camera technology, it offers the ideal solution for many different scenarios in areas such as higher education, corporate business environments, live events, broadcasting and places of worship. With the CR-N700 camera support, the leading indoor 4K remote PTZ camera, with new applications launched, Canon also announced that it will expand the range of applications and compatible remote camera models.
Auto Tracking
Powered by the improved drive mechanism in Canon’s PTZ cameras, this new Auto Track application automatically precisely tracks the subjects in the shot and ensures that subjects are always in the frame and in the shot without the intervention of the cameraman. In this way, both single and multi-camera shots can be taken without a cameraman.
It also draws attention with its visual analysis system that can track walking speeds ranging from slow to brisk, along with the whole body, trunk, above the shoulder and other viewing angles. The camera’s precision and precise drive work in concert with the pan/tilt mechanism for high-quality shooting directly from the camera.
With many different adjustment functions such as Composition, Tracking Sensitivity and Priority Viewing Area, the CR-N700 can be customized for many different uses, such as live production or corporate events. Videographers can adjust the optimal position for a good framing using the composition feature, while the Tracking Sensitivity function can adjust up to ten levels.
Auto Loop Application
Canon is also launching the Auto Loop application, which allows the camera to follow pre-programmed, automatic pan/tilt/zoom movement without the need for a videographer to manually change the shot. APPLICATION; It enables simple but repetitive camera movements such as directing the footage from the drummer to the soloist to the audience and back to the drummer at live music events. In this way, it eases the workload of directors and cameramen.
With a choice of looping and reciprocating motion patterns, it offers more flexibility to choose motions to suit any shooting environment. The app allows easy adjustment of start-stop acceleration/deceleration by mimicking manual camera movements to make the shot look natural in multi-camera setups. From the screen, videographers can apply position and route settings and even see a preview, as well as control the movement speed and pause time at each location.
Apps will be available for download and use with the CR-N700 as of April 2023.
