Gastronomy Tourism Association President Gürkan Boztepe is not just sharing on social media or repeating what everyone already knows; he is also undertaking a significant mission by exporting products from Anatolia’s fertile lands abroad as part of foreign exchange-earning services.
GTD (Gastronomy Tourism Association of Turkey) is one of the most prominent associations achieving great success in bringing Turkish cuisine and producers to their deserved position on both national and international gastronomy stages. The association has a broad membership base, including specialized travel agencies, brand and venue owners, suppliers, bloggers, and columnists both domestically and internationally.
The primary goal of GTD is to develop regional tourism and contribute to gastronomy tourism nationwide while also strengthening relationships and collaborations among its members. The association is unique globally in uniting all sectors of the international travel and gastronomy tourism industry under one roof.
Gürkan Boztepe summarizes the philosophy behind their work by saying, “Imagine an association that doesn’t just gather in restaurants or share on social media; instead, it takes the products produced by the people of Anatolia and organizes their export abroad, earning foreign exchange. We promote Anatolian cuisine by providing experiences, not just words, but actions—and we’ve been doing this for 10 years.”
