The Red Crescent continues its health support, which it started with blood supply right after the disaster, with the mobile health vehicles it sends to the region. Especially in rural areas, 8 mobile health vehicles sent for earthquake victims to receive primary health care services provided health support to approximately 20 thousand people in the disaster area. Red Crescents also provide health services to the survivors who need to get health care at home by traveling from village to village, from town to town.
A total of 8 mobile health vehicles, including 1 dental clinic, serving in 6 provinces, namely Gaziantep, Hatay, Adıyaman, Kahramanmaraş, Osmaniye and Malatya, work in coordination with health directorates to provide health services to disaster victims.
Health Services to About 20 Thousand Disaster Victims
While mobile health vehicles, which provide primary health care services, have been participating in the work in the region from the first moment of the disaster, a total of 7,952 people have been examined and 12,307 people have been given free medicines to date. There are two physicians, a nurse, a psychologist and an x-ray technician in the fully equipped mobile health vehicles that can perform examination, blood tests, x-ray, EKG, pulmonary function tests.
Home Health Services for 210 Patients
Red Crescent health workers, mostly volunteers, wandering around the village, the village, the tent, the town, provided home health services to 210 patients who could not go out of their homes, who needed home health services and wanted to be examined. While health services are provided to the survivors who lost their limbs due to diabetes and the elderly and those who cannot go out, social assistance such as wheelchairs is quickly delivered to those in need.
Mobile Dental Clinic is at the Service of Disaster Victims
Red Crescent, which offers mobile dental clinics as well as mobile health vehicles, provides emergency services to disaster victims who cannot access dental hospitals in Islahiye district of Gaziantep. In the process, it is planned to expand this service with the contributions of volunteer dentists.
