Famous actors will stage the plays “Last Dance in Tatavlada” and “I am Türkan Saylan” in the events organized by Gaziemir Municipality specially for the World Theater Day. Children, on the other hand, will meet with a puppet game called “Horse”.
Gaziemir Municipality, which brings art lovers together with theater, concerts and exhibitions with free cultural and art events organized every month, has prepared a special program for the World Theater Day. Within the scope of the program organized by the municipality, the adult plays “Last Dance in Tatavla” and “I am Türkan Saylan” and the children’s play “Horse” will meet the audience from Gaziemir.
The program organized by the municipality for the World Theater Day will begin with a children’s play, which will be staged by Sahne Sometimes, founded by Özlem Tokaslan. The ensemble will stage the wordless puppet play “Horse”, written by Özlem Tokaslan and Dilek Tekintaş, and the music of Kurtuluş Cengiz, about a child experiencing the difference between the digital world and his own imaginary world. The play will meet with the audience on Saturday, March 25 at 12:00 at Atatürk Cultural Center and at 15:00 at Naim Süleymanoğlu Cultural Center.
Sumru Yavrucuk and Deniz Çakır in Gaziemir
The play “Last Dance in Tatavlada” directed by Berfin Zenderlioğlu and adapted for the theater by Sumru Yavrucuk from the work written by Şaban Ol will be staged on Sunday, March 26 at 20.30 at Atatürk Cultural Center. Sumru Yavrucuk and Deniz Çakır will give life to the characters of the play, which is about the experiences of two Greek women between leaving and staying, and their clinging to the soil after the events of September 6-7.
Şenay Gürler will play Türkan Saylan
Levent Üzümcü Theater, on the other hand, will meet the audience from Gaziemir with the play “I am Türkan Saylan” written and directed by Cengiz Toraman. Şenay Gürler will take the stage alone in the play, which deals with the life of Türkan Saylan, one of the most important figures of self-sacrifice, enlightenment, modernity and devotion to the principles of the republic. The play will be staged at Atatürk Cultural Center on Wednesday, March 29 at 20.30.
