The Study UK Alumni Awards 2025, organized by the British Council to celebrate graduates who have studied in the UK, have found their winners. Graduates who made a significant impact in the categories of ‘Science and Sustainability,’ ‘Social Action,’ ‘Business and Innovation,’ ‘Culture and Creativity,’ and the special ‘Humanitarian Aid Award’ were honored.
The Study UK Alumni Awards 2025, which celebrate the global achievements of international graduates from the UK, took place on Thursday, March 20th at the British Consulate General in Istanbul. The award ceremony, attended by over 100 people, was hosted by the British Consul General in Istanbul, Kenan Poleo, and the British Council Country Director, Gill Caldicott.

Graduates of UK universities, professionals from the business world, entrepreneurs, and community leaders were honored for their outstanding achievements and contributions to strengthening the ties between the UK and Turkey. The Study UK Alumni Awards 2025 aim to highlight the extraordinary successes of graduates who have used their higher education experiences in the UK for the benefit of their communities, professions, and countries. From the applications made this year, the most successful names were selected in five categories. At the award ceremony, Özgür Atalay, a graduate of the University of Manchester, received the ‘Science and Sustainability Award,’ Bahar Taşkın Öztürk, a graduate of Istanbul Bilgi University and the University of London’s LSE EMFSS Program, won the ‘Business and Innovation Award,’ Elif Bereketli, a graduate of the University of London, received the ‘Culture and Creativity Award,’ and Merve Yıldırım, a graduate of the University of Sussex, was awarded the ‘Social Action Award.’ The recipient of the inaugural ‘Humanitarian Aid Special Award’ was Kadriye İpek Miscioğlu, a graduate of the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
£2,500 Professional Development Fund
The British Council offers winners of the Study UK Alumni Awards 2025 the opportunity to participate in career and skill development training programs. With a £2,500 fund, winners can choose a personal career development or professional skills training program from either Turkey or the United Kingdom that will benefit their work field. These training programs will allow them to enhance their international reputation, expand professional connections, and advance their careers.
