In his speech, Mayor Çalık mentioned the second round of the 13th Presidential Election, which took place on May 28th, and stated that there was an approximate 90% participation rate in Beylikdüzü. Çalık said, “On May 14th and May 28th, we fulfilled our citizenship duty by going to the ballot boxes. We will continue to work with utmost dedication to bring beautiful days to our country and will never give up on this. Regardless of the outcome, I hope for the days when everyone feels that the country has won. I thank Mr. Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who set out to provide a bright future for children and young people and has put great effort into this, as well as all the citizens who fulfilled their duty by serving in the ballot boxes. I congratulate Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on being elected President for the third time. The people of Beylikdüzü once again demonstrated their belief in democracy with a participation rate of around 90% in this election. We will continue to work with all our might for justice, democracy, and prosperity, just as we have done so far.”
“Our aim is to prevent disasters from turning into catastrophes.”
Çalık stated that they work with a multidimensional perspective on disaster preparedness and said, “We have implemented the ‘Modular Living House’ project, considering both the grievances caused by the disaster we experienced on February 6th and the potential disasters we may face in the future. While going through disasters, we are also aware of the need to be prepared for them and produce innovative solutions. We will continue our work in this field. We are also continuing our preparations for a potential earthquake in Istanbul. In this context, we have implemented Disaster and Emergency Intervention Stations, which may be the first of their kind in Turkey. Our goal is to make our district prepared for disasters and prevent them from turning into catastrophes.”
Çalık shared the current status of the work at the Volvo Intersection
Çalık informed the public about the ongoing work at the Volvo Intersection and said, “The intersection is undergoing significant expansion. Bridge works are being carried out at several points. This area is a difficult one, as it contains all the infrastructure facilities of Beylikdüzü. Our colleagues are making efforts to work without causing trouble for the infrastructure facilities and without causing interruptions in electricity and natural gas supply. Once again, I wholeheartedly thank all our employees, especially our Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor, who have put effort into this project.”
