The film ”I am where the butterflies sleep”, directed by Ceyhan Kandemir, received the “Audience Special Award” at the 12th Antakya International Film Festival.
The “12th Antakya International Film Festival,” organized with the support of the Republic of Turkey’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism, in collaboration with the Ansam Culture Association and Fotofilm Culture and Arts, took place from October 18-24, 2024, attracting great interest in container cities. At the award ceremony held in the Conference Hall of Hatay Mustafa Kemal University’s Faculty of Communication, the Audience Special Award was presented to director Ceyhan Kandemir by Dr. Özden Toprak, Head of the Cinema Department at Hatay Mustafa Kemal University.
The film’s gala will be held on November 12, 2024, at Kadıköy Cinema in Istanbul. The film previously had its Turkish premiere at the 31st Adana Golden Boll Film Festival. Supported by Nusret Avcı, President of the Nusret Bey Foundation for Education, Culture, Nature, and History Solidarity, the film’s cinematography was done by Ahmet Serdar Taşyürek, with editing by Yusuf Tekke. Cansu Özdenak and Özkan Binol served as producers, Memet Şimşek as executive producer, the screenplay was written by Nafiseh Laleh, and the original music was composed by Cahit Berkay.
