Vodafone Turkey has added three new features to its next-generation mobile wallet application, Vodafone Pay. Accordingly, the usage limit for both virtual and physical Vodafone Pay Cards has been increased to 30,000 TL, and it will be possible to add the “City Life Card,” Istanbulkart, which offers payment options at more than 100,000 locations, to the Vodafone Pay application and load balance onto Istanbulkart. Customers will also have the option to set up automatic balance loading instructions for their Vodafone Pay Cards.
September 7, 2023 – Vodafone, operating with a vision of leading Turkey’s digitalization, continues to enhance its Vodafone Pay product family, consisting of the next-generation mobile wallet application Vodafone Pay and the prepaid shopping card Vodafone Pay Kart, with new features. Accordingly, the usage limit for virtual and physical Vodafone Pay Cards has been increased from 1,250 TL to 30,000 TL, offering more flexibility to users. To perform this limit increase, users must have a registered card within the application. Once the registered card information is verified, the daily/monthly loading and spending limit for both physical and virtual Vodafone Pay Cards is raised to 30,000 TL, and the ATM cash withdrawal limit becomes 1,000 TL.
Istanbulkart can now be added to Vodafone Pay
Users can now add Istanbulkart, a card that offers advantageous payment options for both transportation and non-transportation expenses in Istanbul, to the Vodafone Pay application and load balance onto it. To utilize this function, a customer can enter the card details of their Istanbulkart and link it to the Vodafone Pay application using three different methods: QR code, NFC technology, and manually entering the card information. Once Istanbulkart is added, customers can load balance onto it through the balance available on their Vodafone Pay Card. The loaded balance on Istanbulkart can be used for Istanbul’s public transportation, parking at İspark lots, and shopping at Halk Bakkals, as well as at more than 100,000 locations, including supermarket chains, online food delivery, restaurants, cinemas, museums, clothing stores, cosmetics shops, and gas stations.
Vodafone Pay has launched a campaign in this context. Until the end of September, customers who load a total of 150 TL or more onto their Istanbulkart with Vodafone Pay Kart will receive a 50 TL bonus, which will be added to their Vodafone Pay Cards.
Vodafone FreeZone users can also benefit
Young individuals with Vodafone FreeZone subscriptions can also benefit from the new campaign of Vodafone Pay. Vodafone FreeZone, known for offering advantageous mobile data packages and discounts on coffee, cinema, and travel in popular youth areas, now extends its support to Istanbul FreeZone users with the privilege of Vodafone Pay. Istanbul FreeZone users who load 150 TL or more onto their Istanbulkart will receive a 70 TL bonus.
Automatic balance loading instructions are available
Customers have the option to set up automatic balance loading instructions for their Vodafone Pay Cards. Customers can specify a predetermined amount for their card usage balance. When the balance falls below this specified amount, the Vodafone Pay Card is automatically topped up through the bank or credit card linked to the application. This allows customers to always have the desired spending amount on their card without the risk of running out of balance.
Total user count reaches 4.5 million
Vodafone Pay is available for anyone aged 12 and above, regardless of their mobile operator or bank affiliation. Users can load funds onto physical and virtual Vodafone Pay Cards using the Vodafone Pay application, via bank transfers, or at all bank ATMs. They can also link their bank cards to the Vodafone Pay application, perform instant money transfers 24/7, and withdraw cash instantly from any ATM using the loaded balance on their physical Vodafone Pay Card.
Additionally, Vodafone offers a Mobile Payment solution that allows customers to charge their expenses to their postpaid bills or deduct the expenses from their prepaid balances when shopping at businesses such as Digital Subscriptions, Games, and Application Stores, as well as e-commerce platforms like Her Şey Yanımda and Market Yanımda.
The total number of users using Vodafone Pay products has reached 4.5 million.
