The Purest Solutions aims to create sustainable environments by minimizing the use of plastic. Addressing the issue of plastic waste, TPS Academy launched the Plastic Free Festival in collaboration with the Etki Çemberi Foundation at the Bilgi University Santral Campus Energy Museum. This approach, where people can come together and have fun while protecting nature, stands out as an important step towards an eco-friendly lifestyle. At the event, Hazal Evliyaoğlu, Co-Founder of The Purest Solutions; Gökmen Ergün, UNDP GEF SGP Turkey Director; Aylin Gezgüç, Founder and Board Member of Etki Çemberi Foundation; and Dilara Koçak, Board Member of KAGIDER, shared recent research on plastic usage.
Now in its third year, the festival aims to raise public awareness of the harmful effects of plastic in nature and provide sustainable living solutions. Organized through the cooperation of Purest Solutions Academy and Etki Çemberi Foundation, the event aims to increase environmental awareness, reduce plastic use, and promote eco-friendly alternatives.
SUSTAINABILITY AND AWARENESS TARGETED AT THE PLASTIC FREE FESTIVAL
Hazal Evliyaoğlu, Co-Founder of The Purest Solutions, highlighted that one of the festival’s main goals is to reach the end consumer and show that learning can happen without a carbon footprint. Evliyaoğlu emphasized that by bringing together brands committed to sustainability, they would offer motivational partnerships within a sustainable supply chain.
EVERY INDIVIDUAL CONSUMES 21 GRAMS OF PLASTIC PER WEEK
Dilara Koçak, Board Member of KAGIDER, noted that motivating people to reduce plastic use has become more challenging and emphasized that individuals are more quickly motivated when it concerns their health and the well-being of their children. She highlighted that people consume 21 grams of microplastics per week, which also affects children. She stressed the importance of continually reminding end consumers to “avoid eating plastic, wearing plastic, and using plastic.”
Aylin Gezgüç, Founder and Board Member of the Etki Çemberi Foundation, stated that reducing plastic usage is possible by changing subconscious patterns and added that they aim to create a space for experimental living in harmony with natural cycles.
