M. Nurullah Tuncer’s exhibition titled “Sonata of Daylight,” which deeply explores women’s sensitivity, will meet art lovers at Ütopya Art Gallery on October 11, 2024. The exhibition will remain open until October 29, 2024, featuring large-scale works created using oil painting techniques by the artist.
Theme of the Exhibition and the Artist’s Return
The artist reunites with the audience after a long hiatus. The exhibition titled “Sonata of Daylight” makes references to the dual emotional states reflecting the psychological fluctuations of the pandemic period. Art critic Özcan Türkmen notes that the title and works of the exhibition delve into themes of hope and loneliness that can be associated with the pandemic. Türkmen comments on the exhibition:
“Daylight symbolizes life and hope, while the sonata is like a sound that expresses human loneliness in the universe through instruments. This contrast provides clues about the pictorial issues and oppositions present in the works exhibited.”
