Within our culture concept, we also try to support the announcement of social responsibility projects as much as we can. In this context, this Tuesday’s guest of the program “With Eylül Aşkın…” presented by Eylül Aşkın, which is published on Turkey News Portal and related websites and on our YouTube channel, was Yunus Gültekin, the president of the association “We Sing for Children”. Gültekin shared with Eylül Aşkın for the first time how the association “We Sing for Children” was founded, how it works, what they have done so far and what they plan to do, leaving no doubt behind.

They Do Not Make Profit from the Association!
With the 2021 Elazığ Earthquake, the Association’s Activities Changed Direction. We Sing for Our Children Association was founded in January 2021, inspired by the charity concerts previously organized under a different name, to organize two or three concerts a year and to forward the proceeds to the relevant institutions. However, the Elazığ earthquake that occurred about ten days after the establishment of the association, the impact of the pandemic process that started immediately afterwards on music life, the Izmir earthquake, forest fires, floods, the February 6 earthquake, the association started to play a more active role in disaster relief and search and rescue rather than charity concerts.
“Some people had five tents when they didn’t have any tents left.”
Speaking about the work of the Singing for Our Children team, which worked tirelessly for months during the Hatay earthquake and the destruction that came with it, Yunus Gültekin pointed out that most of the people gathered in the earthquake zone did not need help. Underlining that thieves and opportunists who take advantage of the destruction in disaster areas gather before those in need, Yunus Gültekin said, “We do not share our materials with people we do not think are in need.”
